  Synchronize child devise

After updating Ranch Manager Open I sent the new info to the cloud.I then went to my child device to synchronize. It does not give me that option. I only have the option to receive the project. Is this correct or should I see synchronize on my child device

  Importing from Breed Association

I came back to ranch manager specifically because the information was more detailed, bc of the import capability. I would love to have it back. If you agree, please note your opinion in the poll.

Is the import animal information from the Hereford Association or other breed associations not an option anymore or am I completely missing it??

I renewed the license for my child device but after updating to RM Open it asks for my email address. When I enter my email address I get an error message that says address family not supported by protocol family.

  Update: 2017-10-15
Posted by: lionedge - 10-15-2017, 06:06 PM - Forum: Ranch Manager News - No Replies

We just published an update today. The new update includes:
   - We bumped the maximum age for Cattle to 30 years to accommodate for some of the longer lived cattle breeds.
   - We corrected a problem in the "Others" view, specifically in the "Wildlife" module where the "All Animals" filter was not filtering out animals that had been sold or had died in previous years.

To update: Start Ranch Manager Open and in the main page, simply click on the "Update Now" button located beside the message indicating that new updates are available.

  Horns
Posted by: Gladhour - 10-15-2017, 04:42 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (2)

What a "deep" program!  Looks like it will be extremely useful once I make time to input all my animals!  Sorry I asked so many questions before I found the tutorial!

When I am using the program myself the major distinction will be a genetic distinction between polled and horned...for registry and buyers to make breeding choices.  But one of my main needs for the program is to have the info available for someone who doesn't know my cattle  if I die or am disabled and they need to identify them.  Therefore, I'd like to suggest that you add "dehorned" as a choice in the horns field-- strangers cannot always tell dehorned from polled.

Symbols and Abbreviations in the program
Posted by: Sallason - 10-14-2017, 11:36 PM - Forum: Help using the Software - Replies (6)

I'm sure it's probably there, but I can't seem to locate the definitions for the symbols and abbreviations in the Sheep Program.

I'm rather new to using the program and always seem to be too busy to sit down and study it thoroughly.  I know the program has so much more that I could use if I could discover where I should be looking for this information.  I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that when I unlock the mysteries of these symbols I won't get so flustered when I  try to search for something I've done, document something new or at the very least create a better Flock List.

Today I noticed a little asterisk on the upper right side of the gender symbol for some of my ewes and for the life of me I can't remember what it means.

Is there someplace that I can find the answer to this and other questions I have about the meaning to some of the options available for customizing my Flock List.

Thanks,

  Inputting year in a record

It would be handy to have a quick arrow for zooming back years when entering animal birth year.

I'm new to cattle software. Can't find first dam I entered.
Posted by: Gladhour - 10-14-2017, 10:30 PM - Forum: Help using the Software - Replies (3)

Couldn't find first dam I entered. After getting a tip, she turned out to be in unmanaged animals but I want to move her to dams. Don't know how. Other unmanaged are her sire and dam who DO belong there (I guess--I don't own them but entered them in HER record).

Please tell me how to move this cow out of "unmanaged animals" and into "dams." !!!
